Operational Programme - Innovative Economy 2007-2013

At present Gdansk Science and Technology Park continues to run the third stage of the project included in the Innovative Economy Operational Programme 2007-2013. The goal of the project is an extension of the Park. The project involves constructing two connected buildings which will be integrated with current spaces of the Park. As the result, Gdansk Science and Technology Park will be a big office, production and technology complex.

The development of the Park will allow support of the development of investors of the Pomeranian Special Economic Zone which are leaders of world technologies in Research & Development carried out in cooperation with domestic and international science institutions. This type of support will assure long term continuation of operations in Poland for those investors.

Furthermore, The Park is planning to set up an infrastructure for the Technology and Security Institute of created as a part of the activity of the Polish Platform for Homeland Security. The activity of the Institute includes cooperation of the best Polish science and R&D institutions which carry out researches on the highest standard.

The goal of the Gdansk Science and Technology Park is also creating infrastructure for the Baltic Centre of Biotechnology and Innovative Diagnostics – the Consortium of three biggest universities from the Pomeranian region i.e. Medical University of Gdansk, Gdansk University of Technology, and Gdansk University. As a result of carrying out the project there will be an intercollegiate research and implementation centre which thanks to the modern equipment will be able to carry out research in biotechnology and innovative diagnostics meeting world standards. The results of the researches will have an impact on national bio-economy. The plans include building cooperation network and development of clusters.

The works of the project commenced in August 2007 and the planned time of completion will be between the end on 2010 and the beginning of 2011.
